Phoenix Suns big man Bismack Biyombo, who last month signed a one-year, $2.9 million deal to remain with the team, has been providing a travelogue of sorts on his Twitter account, showing his efforts to assist people in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, his home country.
July 5, 2022 - The Phoenix Suns today announced the team has re-signed free agent center Bismack Biyombo. Biyombo (6-8, 255 pounds) first signed with the Suns on Jan. 1 last season and played in 36 games, averaging 5.8 rebounds on 59.3% shooting plus 4.6 rebounds in 14.1 minutes.
Bismack met with Pope Francis at the Vatican hotel on June 21 to brief him on the Biyombo Foundation’s humanitarian efforts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
When asked about what Biyombo can bring to a team possessing championship-level aspirations such as the Suns, without hesitation, the first characteristic Casey spoke on was “toughness.”
